A Lazy Saturday Afternoon and a Little Yellow Car

Saturday afternoon found me twiddling my thumbs {a rare thing for a sophomore busy finishing what’s left of the school year}.  But due to my refusal to study anything, it happened.  So I took the opportunity to rescue my rather dusty camera; I’ve been rather inattentive to her the past month, and she’s spiteful.  But she’s forgiven me now.

Low Key

Yes.  No post in a long time.  School assignments are merciless, exams are coming up, and I’m fainting under the weight of it all.  Sigh.  And why is it that approaching holidays seem to slip farther and farther away as the passing days bring it closer?  (That was a rhetorical question.  Everyone knows why.)  Even my weekends are spent studying.  But today…no.  I am hopping on my bed, downing a cup of tea (with honey, of course), and rereading a chapter or two of Lord of the Rings.  History books, chemistry texts, be gone!  Today I’m enjoying myself.

(Could you tell these haven’t been the most carefree of days?  Thanksgiving break, please hurry.)

On a lighter note, my dearest sister turned fourteen yesterday (Maybe I should have gone for a more lively portrait)!  Love ya, sissy.

Colors of a Festival

Now that was something I haven’t seen, heard, smelled, felt before.

I have never felt Humanity brush past me on every side.

I have never seen such vibrant color.

I have never been inside ‘vegetable’ houses.

I have never seen so much sausage on the streets.

I have never known such fascinating, colorful food.

I have never seen food used as such pretty decor.

I have never seen so many fans for sale.

I have never attempted a panning shot.

Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to see the Pahiyas Festival when some family friends invited me to join them in their planned excursion.  Though this is one of my rather uninspired posts (I make lists when I’m lazy!), I can’t write down in words or capture in photos how much fun it all was.

Kinokuniya – Bookworm in Singapore

They say a photo is worth a thousand words.  Well, guess what?  During my trip to Singapore, I visited Kinokuniya (the biggest bookstore I’ve been to yet!).  Now I could use millions of words to describe how much I absolutely love bookstores (being a bookworm, naturally) and especially this one, but as I’m feeling highly lazy today, a couple of photos will have to suffice.  🙂

I wish my bookshelf had a ladder.

When you’re in the bookshop, it’s like your in the airport.  Only, you can travel to entirely different worlds and times.

My sister got hooked on the Hunger Games in this shop.  She finished the series in a matter of days.

Familiar, anyone?  Probably not.  Sigh.  I studied this writer for European lit. this year.  I love him.

“A bookstore is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking.”

the Photographer in Me

The holidays are here!  It’s been three days and so far I haven’t felt the pangs of boredom.  Yippee!  Though there isn’t much to blog about yet, there are fairly enough photos to share.

My little brother loves the camera.  Unlike my other siblings who turn and hide at the sight of my lens and cocked eye, Marco just looks and gives his best smile.  No consciousness whatsoever.  That’s why I love this little model.

Yes, I love Gimp!  There’s my sister on the upper right corner, coming round the net.  She beat the wind out of the tennis instructor that day too.

I’m loving my blogger essentials!  My spiffy laptop, my trusty old notebook, my favorite pen, my (branded!) pair of glasses, and my antique wind-up clock to keep track of time (which just slips through my fingers when I’m blogging!).

Love reading?  I do.  But sometimes, the bed and the comfy couch get boring.  Then it’s to the grass. (And yes, that’s my copy of Oliver Twist.)

I admit it.  We’re a card-loving family.  Hearts, blackjack, crazy eights, and beggar my neighbor are only some of our favorite guilty pastimes.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
